What is the future of intellectual property?

Is there a new “edge” to the leading edge for creating, protecting and
monetizing intellectual property?

Yes! In the "what am I doing now" category - redefining the high tech business
start up model
by creating the business after developing the intellectual
property core. Keep an eye out for my 8th & 9th start ups soon.

Change to the orthodox practice of invention creation and management is
long overdue. Managers of innovation have themselves, failed to adopt
innovation. Perhaps it’s because they are managers, not innovators.

Legal and IP management professionals continue to practice with the
notion that IP asset management is an operational support function.

Having recently advised IP.com , and the new Intellectual Property Exchange International (IPXI) in their next-generation IP business models, I can assure you that the leading companies are cutting a new chapter in an historically stagnant industry. But true business innovation in the intellectual property industry remains as scarce as pioneer patents.

Stakeholder value is now being created as the result of new corporate missions that emphasize the creation of intangible assets, within which lie the traditional forms of intellectual property. Patents, trademarks, reputation, organizational capital, relational capital all comprise total intangible asset value. Think of these assets as vitamins - balance is key to long term health. Eliminate one, you get tired. Eliminate three, and you get sick.

At Desert Holdings Corporation , these intangible assets are the starting point building blocks for a next-generation corporate model currently in development.

Are you leading the next evolution on the global IP timeline? Are you ready to move out of your comfort zone?
